Introducing Lamp Manager

Last month we spoke about the benefits of our new system, Lamp Manager, which will be replacing Recoweb. We are now getting close to testing, with a planned release in October 2011.

When we launch the new system, those of you who currently have access to Recoweb will be sent an email with your new login details. We will be using our records stored on Recoweb to do this.

Lamp Manager has been designed to make booking collections as easy as possible; our main contact on Recoweb will also be able to add additional users to the system.

We will be producing user guides closer to launch date, along with short video clips showing the steps you need to take.

Is your Recoweb email address the correct one?
Please can you all check, and if you need to change, email the team at info@recolight.co.uk with Recoweb contact as the email topic.

Recolight RB19 gets stronger

The changes to the RB19 container have now been made, and are starting to be delivered to collection points. With these, you will find assembly instructions which also highlight the enhanced features of the container when assembled correctly. The assembly guide is also available as a PDF to download from our website.

Do you have sites that collect less than 1000 lamps a quarter?

For us to provide a free container, we have a minimum requirement of 1000 waste lamps each quarter. However, you can now benefit from our free collection and recycling service even if you do not reach these quantities, with our leasing option.

Do you have a customer that could benefit from this service, therefore adding value to the service you provide them .

A four year lease on an RB19 container is as little as £485 and an RC8 for £85, this includes delivery.

Container details can be found on our website, but to discuss further, please email or phone the Recolight team.

Calling all parents, aunties, uncles, grandparents...

Last year the Big Light Project was delivered in 2000 schools across the UK reaching over 200,000 children aged 8 to 13. The feedback received was phenomenal. This year, to save costs, paper and not lose the valuable resource, we have made the project available to download from our website.
We have issued a press release which talks about the resources and success of the project. It is a good document to convince a school near you to discover the world of Professor Bright, the history of lighting and importance of lamp recycling.

Ask the expert

In England you need to register with the Environment Agency as a hazardous waste producer if you produce more than 500kg of hazardous waste in a year.
The 500kg is collective so it doesn't just cover lamps but every type of hazardous waste that your site may produce (batteries, oils, solvents, paints etc).

You can register on the Environment Agency website, and this will cost you £18. The registration is valid for 12 months and must be renewed each year.

When you register as a hazardous waste producer you will be given a unique premises code to use when waste leaves your site. Without a premises code, waste cannot legally leave your site.

All types of premises that produce or hold less than 500kg of hazardous waste in a year are exempt from registration. You do not need to tell the EA that you are exempt.
